Novel polyaromatic nanotweezer, 4,6-di(anthracen-9-yl)-1,3-phenylene bis(dimethylcarbamate), \which has a polyaromatic group on one end and a urea-analogue carbamate group on the other end, replaces conventional deoxycholate surfactants on semiconducting carbon nanotubes.

The polyaromatic anthracene end of the polyaromatic nanotweezer clenches the carbon nanotube strongly via π–π interaction while the

carbamate end interacts with Pb2+, functioning as a strong Lewis base.

When used as an additive in perovskite solar cells, the device performance improves greatly owing to the superior effectiveness as passivators and charge bridges between grains. In addition, the new surfactant has conjugated double bonds with a

suitable band gap, resulting in enhanced mobility of the perovskite film.
